Accessing Ducks Unlimited Canada Properties

Ducks Unlimited Canada has over 350 publicly accessible hunting sites in Alberta. These have been made possible by our invaluable partnerships with Albertans who have prioritized conserving wetlands and upland habitats on the landscape.

Ducks Unlimited Canada acknowledges, respects, and supports the Inherent Rights of Indigenous Peoples. In Alberta, Ducks Unlimited Canada lands are open to Indigenous subsistence harvesters, who are encouraged to use these lands to exercise their important rights.

Hunters accessing Ducks Unlimited Canada property are responsible for following hunting regulations and firearm discharge rules outlined in the Alberta Hunting Regulations.

Some properties have additional restrictions. As part of ongoing habitat management, users should be aware of possible operations on the property, including haying or late-fall grazing. Ducks Unlimited Canada staff and contractors may be present on occasion. Please download the listed properties to ensure adherence to applicable restrictions.

Hunting on Ducks Unlimited Canada lands in Alberta

Hunters should consult a county or municipal landowner map to verify the location of the conservation site and corresponding Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) and double-check that they are entering the appropriate Ducks Unlimited Canada property. Hunters are responsible for ensuring they are at the right location before entering a Ducks Unlimited Canada property. If hunters need to access adjacent private property or lease land, they must obtain the landowner’s or leaseholder’s permission.

Discharge of firearms on Ducks Unlimited Canada properties for purposes other than hunting, including target shooting or sighting in of firearms, is strictly prohibited. These activities should be conducted at a gun range for the safety and enjoyment of all users and neighbouring residents.

Hunters are reminded that Ducks Unlimited Canada properties are multi-use lands and other users may be on the property at any given time. Those accessing Ducks Unlimited Canada lands must be mindful and respectful of fellow users. All Ducks Unlimited Canada properties are day use and foot access only, with no open fires allowed. Anyone hunting on Ducks Unlimited Canada property must be prepared to transport their game to the nearest road without the aid of a motorized vehicle.
